4 health tips you can do right NOW!

To start off, we are open and seeing patients. We are requesting appointments only rather than walk ins due to trying to keep people limited in the person to person contact as well as being able to clean and wipe things down prior to the next patient coming in. We will be getting back to normal 5 days a week as things progress.

I wanted to share 4 quick health tips that you can do right now during this COVID 19 scenario. I understand a lot of things are off the table due to being closed and such but that doesn’t mean you can’t do anything.

Tip 1: First off, I’m seeing a little change in the conditions that are coming into the office. Rather than the falls or accidents, I’m seeing more sitting around for too long and small repetitive problems. Keep moving. If that involves taking a break and changing positions every 30 mins or so, that is huge. So when taking little breaks like this, if you are taking a break every 30 minutes from the same position, take 10 seconds or so and change positions or stretch real quick. If you are doing this often, it will not take much to counter the changes that occur in your body rather than sitting for 4 hours and then standing up is more difficult.

Tip 2: Breathing. I have seen a lot of issues with this one over the past month or 2. We have a tendency to breath from our chest when we are stressed or in pain. There is definitely a lot of stress going on right now with the corona virus. This can cause a lot of neck tension, headaches, jaw pain, and upper back pain. Try and get back into that belly or diaphragmatic breathing. An easy thing you can do at home is lay on the ground and put something around 10 pounds on your stomach and push that weight up and down while you breath. These breathes don’t have to get up into your chest, you don’t need that much air when you are relaxing or sitting around watching this video.

Tip 3: Nutrition. Don’t overlook good nutrition, especially right now. Getting a lot of fluids and remembering our fruits and vegetables is great for helping you feel better as well as improve your ability to fight off diseases. Things like fruits and vegetables have the nutrients your body needs to stay healthy, which are needed now probably more than ever. If we can keep our immune system functioning at its highest level, that is about the best we can do right now.

Tip 4: Movement or Exercise. Exercise has a large amount of benefits. Walking has significant benefits for recovery as well as things like decreasing cardiovascular risk and osteoporosis. Walking is something so simply that pretty everybody can do right now, especially in Tahoe right now with all the great weather and sunshine. Get out and go for a walk and enjoy what we have.

Last point I want to bring up is things are tough right now, we get it, be happy and be nice to each other and enjoy what we have. We are all trying to make this work. Let us know if you have any questions and hope to see you soon.

Should You See A Chiropractor For Low Back Pain?

Life is challenging and at every stage there is a stress involved. The stress usually is felt by the body and mind both. While, mind could be relaxed in minutes or days, the body needs more attention. If one ignores the lower back pain that is caused by sitting for long hours of study or work, the situation will get worse. Hence, taking the ChiropracticTreatment from experts right in time is a must. Of course, low back pain could be seen in people who are involved in highly intensive sports practices or working on heavy machinery or because of accidents or could have been a chronic pain.
Depending on the severity of the pain there could be multiple ways in which the treatment could be provided to an individual.
Diversified adjustment:
This usually will be done by the ergonomics specialist in the corporate companies, where the employees are found to be using a wrong posture for working. The simple adjustments that are done by hands would help increase motion, reduce pain, and will eventually help in improving the function of muscles. This is part of the Chiropractic care that is provided to the individual to ensure that stiffness in muscles is reduced.
Extremity adjustment:
Because of injury that happened in the past we prefer not to move our body parts to the extreme stretchable limits, and this is when the muscles would become stiff. People who have attended the Chiropractic South Lake Tahoe treatment would explain how they have started moving their legs and hands in free form as they were able to do it prior to injury.
Preventive measures:
People with highly intensive sports practice would sometimes adopt wrong movements in the game during the initial stages due to which the damage might have occurred. The Chiropractic care will help sports people clarify the mistakes in their movements, correcting which will help avoid the injuries.
Evidence based treatment:
Though we know that taking the Chiropractic treatment will help cure the muscle problems, we should still be cautious about taking this treatment based on the evidences that are gathered from the treatments that are done earlier. Also, what type of therapy is being used and how exactly it is being done, the suggested trainings attended by the specialist, all this information will help understand the quality of treatment you will be offered.
Tools that help in treatment:
The human force applied while doing adjustments may sometimes give a worse impact. This statement is the combination of fear that people have developed against this treatment and has few facts related to it. Hence, the activator is thought to be gentle approach in adjusting the muscles. This tool gives soft touch when compared to manual hand pressure. One major reason why this device is used in Chiropractic South Lake Tahoe treatment is it helps addressing the acute injuries where manual adjustment is highly impossible.
